Wasabi Chips

not exactly date, but I recently tried habs, potato chips with wasabi flavor .
























Wasabi is, for those not already know, Japanese horseradish . Unlike a swamp plant native to and much sharper. In this country, it was announced by the stuff sushi, there's usually so on the plate a green thing that looks like an out chewing gum (or Riesenpopel) only in focus. Just as the cold rice rolls and wasabi was a fashion and is being done everywhere in - until it can no longer see bw taste.
Back to the Chips! First of all the things are already visually quite used to, are not golden but - Green ! (In Switzerland's even blue chips, but it is the potato, not the spice). On closer inspection, then falls on that the things some glassy, almost transparent are. That's also suspicious, since it is usually a sign that something is literally soaked with oil. When compared with other varieties turned out to be sure, that the wasabi chips have no more calories, strange ... must have something to do with the type of seasoning. The wasabi is not spread on the chips such as peppers etc but inveigled into these things, which makes sense because horseradish in contact with air quickly loses its flavor.
That's it, now the most important thing: the taste. The chips are hot ! That is not only on the package, it is indeed true. And they taste even after Wasabi, but only to wasabi. The seasoning is so dominant that remains of the potatoes nothing more remains, as one might have use any X any other material as a flavor carrier. Too bad, because you can suck on the same nerve Wasabitube, came out the same thing. To taste OK, but for me, therefore, the incentive is missing more often to the green slice grip.
